DPD Crawley Depot
2 Month Completion | 60,000 SQ FT | Furniture Selection | Project Management | Installation
How TOIG Delivered for DPD When It Mattered Most.
Project Brief
DPD's new Crawley South Distribution Centre required a complete furniture solution across 60,000 sq ft, specified from scratch, installed on a live construction site, and handed over within two months. The brief covered everything: space planning, product specification, fitted worktop benches, labelling stations, and all ancillary works.
The building itself set a high bar, designed with a grass roof, timber cladding, and sustainability at its core. TOIG's job was to furnish it to the same standard, on time, and without adding to the complexity of an already busy site.
Crawley marks the second DPD site TOIG has delivered within six months.
Owned End to End
TOIG managed every element of the Crawley project personally, from pre-installation survey through to final sign-off. Nothing subcontracted. Nothing outstanding.
TOIG Solution
TOIG delivered a fully managed furniture solution, sustainable furniture supply and installation, fitted worktop benches and labelling stations, and complete project coordination from specification through to completion.
No Disruption. No Excuses.
A live construction site. Multiple contractors. A fixed handover deadline. When circumstances changed, as they often do on complex projects — TOIG adapted without missing a beat. Whatever the programme threw at us, the client never felt it.
A Building Built for the Future - Furnished to Match
The Crawley depot was built with genuine environmental ambition, a grass roof, timber cladding, and sustainability built into the fabric of the building. TOIG's specification was developed to match it.
Extensive market research was conducted by TOIG to ensure DPD were getting the most sustainable office furniture ranges on the market, with every product UK-manufactured, carrying high recycled content and near-100% recyclability at the end of life.
Our Approach
At TOIG, taking ownership means being there from the start.
Before a single order was placed, a full space planning exercise was completed and every product specified around DPD's operational workflows — including fitted worktop benches and labelling stations designed for the depot environment. Extensive market research ensured DPD were getting the most sustainable ranges available, with PET desk screens made from recycled plastic bottles branded with the DPD logo, and QR codes on every item linking staff to sourcing and sustainability data. Minimal packaging was used throughout, with all waste removed from the site and recycled.
On the delivery side, a full pre-installation site survey was completed before day one. Vicky was personally on site for three days during installation, coordinating all ancillary works end to end. When installation dates shifted twice, and last-minute additions came in from the client, TOIG absorbed it all, without disruption, and without making it anyone else's problem.
The Outcome
Delivered on time. On budget. On a live construction site — with shifting dates and last-minute additions handled without a word of complaint. TOIG handed over 60,000 sq ft fully complete, nothing outstanding, nothing left for the client to chase.
Crawley is the second DPD depot TOIG has completed. The same standard, every time.
What DPD had to say:
“Working with Vicky and the Team at The Office Interiors Group on our office furniture installation at our new Crawley depot has been a really positive experience.
Their attention to detail in reviewing our requirements, considering alternative products with an emphasis on sustainability while maintaining the corporate appearance and functionality we required, was excellent.
The project was managed professionally and efficiently, and most importantly, it was completed on time even though we had to change the installation dates a couple of times due to factors outside our and Office Interiors' control. All the ancillary works associated with the instruction were bought together by Vicky, personally managed, and successfully delivered. Even last-minute client additions were managed and accommodated to provide us with a superb end result.
I was very pleased with the whole process, from the commencement of design through to the information on the product provided and delivered, and would certainly recommend The Office Interiors Group to prospective clients looking for their furniture needs”.
