The Data City | Avenue HQ Leeds
Delivering a seamless office fit-out transformation in the heart of Leeds city centre.
Project Overview
Located in the heart of Leeds city centre, this project involved transforming a newly acquired office suite within The Data City’s existing building into a functional, brand aligned workspace designed to support continued growth.
With the business expanding, the brief focused on creating additional meeting space, improving opportunities for focused work, and ensuring the new suite felt cohesive with the company’s established identity.
The Challenge
This was not simply an interior upgrade; it was a live commercial expansion.
Key considerations included:
Coordinating installation within restricted city centre access windows
Managing shared building access and lift logistics
Minimising disruption to neighbouring tenants
Creating additional meeting and focused workspaces within an existing layout
Beyond logistics, the new suite needed to feel cohesive with the wider business, reflecting The Data City’s professional identity while supporting the demands of a growing, data led organisation.
TOIG Approach
We adopted a design led, risk conscious process to ensure confidence before installation began.
Detailed 3D visualisations were developed to:
Validate spatial planning and flow
Align stakeholders on layout and finishes
Reduce ambiguity before delivery
Streamline onsite execution
By resolving decisions at the design stage, we ensured the installation phase remained controlled, efficient and predictable, critical within a constrained city centre environment.
The completed space includes:
Two dedicated meeting rooms to support client engagement and internal collaboration
Two single person acoustic pods providing privacy for focused work and confidential conversations
Clearly defined work zones to improve flow and day to day usability
Carefully integrated brand elements to create visual continuity
Each element was strategically positioned to balance collaboration and concentration, supporting the operational realities of a modern data business.
The Solution
The completed suite provides The Data City with a refined, high-performing workspace that supports both collaboration and focused work within a professional Leeds city centre environment.
Delivered seamlessly within a live, multitenant building, the project was carefully coordinated to ensure business continuity throughout. Detailed 3D visualisation removed ambiguity at the design stage, enabling a controlled, efficient installation process and reducing risk prior to delivery.
The expansion has increased usable meeting and private workspace capacity, better supporting hybrid working patterns and confidential conversations. Completed on time within city centre access restrictions and without disruption to day to day operations, the project reflects a structured, commercially aligned approach to workplace transformation.
Project Impact
Project Manager | Tom Rae
"It was great working with everyone involved at The Data City, it’s always a rewarding feeling watching the client get excited about their new space. The 3D visuals let them really imagine how it would feel, and by the end, we’d created a workspace that supports how their team actually works and collaborates every day."
Tom led this project from initial concept through to completion, designing the bespoke seating solution and overseeing the programme as a whole. With a strong understanding of workplace interiors and a hands-on, collaborative approach, he ensured every detail aligned seamlessly with the client’s brief.
